Ariane Nixon (born 2 June 1997), known mononymously as ariane (stylised in all lower case), is a British lighting technician, production electrician, and lighting designer. She is also the partner of world-famous sound artist Xavier Velastín.
Early life and education
ariane was born in Bradford Infirmary.
ariane studied Production Arts at Gateshead College, then Technical Theatre and Stage Management at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
Career
ariane's first job was at Dance City in Newcastle upon Tyne.
She went on to become a freelance lighting specialist working across live disciplines including contemporary dance, theatre, and music.
Personal Life
ariane is openly queer.
ariane met Velastín in Leeds, whilst on work experience at Transform Festival. The two had a long friendship which eventually developed to become a partnership.
